Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from images.

The UK Wedding Data Project

The UK Wedding Data Project is an industry research initiative organised and published by Dick Lloyd Photography. Its purpose is to collect and analyse information provided voluntarily by wedding industry professionals and suppliers, with the aim of producing useful research into industry trends, booking patterns and customer purchasing behaviour.

Information Collected

When a business representative completes the project’s Expression of Interest form, the following information may be collected:

  • Contact name
  • Business name
  • Business email address
  • Business category or categories
  • Business website address, where provided
  • Any additional information voluntarily supplied through the form

No research data is requested at the initial expression-of-interest stage.

How the Information Is Used

Information collected through the form is used to:

  • Respond to expressions of interest and enquiries about the project.
  • Maintain a record of businesses interested in participating.
  • Provide information about relevant research opportunities and invitations to contribute.
  • Communicate with participating businesses about the project’s progress and published findings.
  • Administer and develop the research initiative.

Contact information collected for The UK Wedding Data Project will not be used to subscribe individuals to unrelated photography marketing communications without an appropriate separate lawful basis.

Lawful Basis for Processing

The intended lawful basis for processing contributor contact details is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR.

These interests involve administering a voluntary industry research initiative, responding to enquiries and communicating with businesses that have expressed an interest in participating.

Confidentiality of Research Contributions

Business information contributed to the research will be treated as confidential.

Research findings will normally be published in aggregated form, with reasonable precautions taken to prevent individual participating businesses from being identified.

Neither a participating business’s identity nor its individual commercially sensitive research contributions will be publicly disclosed without express prior written agreement.

Businesses may choose whether to receive public recognition as research contributors. Any such acknowledgement, including a business description or website link, will require separate approval.

Storage, Access and Retention

Contact information will be stored securely and used only for purposes connected with administering and developing The UK Wedding Data Project.

Access will be restricted to those who require it for those purposes. Information may be processed by website hosting, form-processing, email and other service providers acting on behalf of Dick Lloyd Photography, subject to appropriate data protection arrangements.

Contributor contact information will be retained while participation or research-related communication remains active. Records relating to inactive contacts will be reviewed and normally deleted within 24 months of the last substantive research-related interaction, unless a longer period is justified or required by law.

Any international transfers of personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection requirements.

Your Choices and Rights

Participation in The UK Wedding Data Project is voluntary.
